HISTORY

Wattle Park

The original Gilmandyke holding based at Judds Creek south of Rockley NSW. The 1134ha was purchased in the early 70’s and was the home of the Bateman families highly successful Murray Grey stud.

This cold country has soft rolling hills and highly reliable winter rainfall and often sees a dusting of snow through the winter months.

Wattle Park continues to prove itself time and time again as a great breeding block running 700 commercial cows, turning weaners off to other properties within the organisation.

Our Properties

Kangaroobie

These bulls and females are a true representation of the foundation and breeding philosophy that we pride ourselves on and an example of the quality of livestock that we strive to produce within the Gilmandyke program. Globally sources, locally tested and commercially proven. As always, our commercial program provides stability and continues to influence the direction we breed within the stud.

Females

As stud producers we focus on and value the maternal lines that produce the bulls we use in our own commercial herd as well as those sell to our valued clients. This same logic is applied to our 2500 commercial cow herd where we know that the females are the profit drivers in our breeding operation.

Based on cows from the Narrangullen dispersal sale Gilmandyke angus females has been evolved with a focus on structure, doing ability and fertility. Our cow herd has developed into what it is today with the strength of such families as Bonney, Eutesca, Emillesque and more recently Dream and Barra families. Our stud herd is guided and driven by our own need to produce highly functional commercial females that preform both maternally in the paddock whilst producing high performance to the farm gate.

At Gilmandyke we believe the longevity of Australian Agriculture lies in the combination of Advanced genetics with modern sustainable land use practices, producing world leading food and fibre. This is achieved through strong leadership and advanced management of our asset.

About Us Section break.JPG

Our farming philosophy is quite simple as we strive to produce sustainable, high quality livestock, protein and fibre across all our farming operations. In doing this we look to optimise efficiency while never compromising quality.

Belinda Bateman and her late husband Edmund started their rural enterprise in Triangle Flat before expanding over the following decades.

Today our operations include seed stock cattle, commercial cattle, cropping, Merino and Prime lamb production.

We understand the importance agriculture plays in the Australian economy. We believe production should push the limits of economic and genetic gain whilst ensuring the lands and environments on which we farm are sustainably managed.

With an agricultural background and formal qualifications in horticulture Belinda has always believed we have a responsibility to care for the land, increasing tree cover, controlling weeds, efficient water uses and improving pastures and carrying capacity.
